Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and some working experiences.

December 26th, 2007 by boringthings

First of all, a late Merry Christmas, Happy Boxing Day and an advanced Happy New Year… It has been a while since my unreaded blog has been updated. But now, I have finally found some interesting things to write about…my working experience. Yes, lazy as I am, I have finally joined a group of my friends (now boss and colleagues) to work in an event-organizing company called EventPlus. A hectic schedule and constant eye-opening events brought me to sharing my experience to those few who are reading this. (Pardon my bad grammar.)

Here is my working experience with EventPlus.

1st day (17th Dec)

Traveled to KL with the boss (Alan) and his wife (Cheryl or Ah Sow). When we reached KL, we headed straight for the office in Damansara Perdana. Then, I lepak-ed in the office with Hafiz, my schoolmate, also working for EP and the others. I then had dinner with Hafiz and had a long chat while we waited to be called back to the office. Back in the office, I waited until around midnight before following Simon (very handsome and funny guy… HAHA, and likes turtles and Pikachu) to Johor Bharu. Before traveling though, I met the group of carolers I am supposed to conduct when I return to KL 2 days later. The first meeting was a bit awkward from my part as I absolutely don’t know all of them save Chris the guitarist. My socializing skills were tested…..

2nd day

Simon and I reached Johor Bharu at around 4.30 in the morning. Surprised?? We rested quickly after a quick bath. The next morning, or rather a few hours later, I woke up and helped unload some stuff. I met Shiva here, another of my schoolmate in Anderson. I also met some new friends/colleagues. At night, I helped in setting up the roadshow area (actually just decorating 2 tiny Christmas trees) with Shiva, Alan, Simon, and Kevin at the Johor Bharu City Square Concourse Area until around 4 in the morning. Hey!! Isn’t that the title of Gwen Stefani’s song??, 4 in the morning?? HAHA. I am truly talking nonsense. Well it cant be helped. Its 1.45 in the morning now. Anyway, I slept at around 4.30 that day.

3rd day

I woke up around 8-9 in the morning, after sleeping for approximately 4 hours. Then, I followed the boss to the DiGi roadshow area to start work, my main responsibility being taking photos of DiGi users who wants to have their photos printed and made into a keychain. The day passed without many other interesting events.

4th day

Today was much the same as the 3rd day except I got more sleep. Yay!!! Haha Shiva and I were more refreshed when working and learned a lot of PATIENCE during working. Needless to say we were the newbies there. Shiva only came to the roadshow in the JB CS in the afternoon as he was conducting the Johor carolers at another venue. Shiva and I talked a lot during our ‘work’ though. I ended up having dinner with him and telling him that I will head back to KL that night. He was really upset not to have a schoolmate there with him to go through his final day working for EP of the year by the looks of his face. Anyway, I traveled back to KL with Simon that night. Along with us came Alvin (DCT). But before we departed, I was very shocked to find that I have forgotten to pack my mobile phone charger. And soon, I will have to live without my mobile phone…..such bad news for me.

5th day

During the trip back to KL, Simon and I were talking and laughing as if there was no tomorrow. If was fun, as fun as the night when we traveled the opposite way. We reached KL at around 3.30 in the morning and I quickly slept for the next day (or rather later again) was a working day. I woke up early in the morning to find Alvin, who came back with me, getting ready for caroling. I quickly got ready too. Soon, all of the DiGi Yellow Christmas carolers started turning up. We (the carolers and I) had a final round of practice with the conductor i.e. me before traveling to many malls that has DiGi outlet(s) to sing Christmas songs in front of the outlets.

The songs we sang were:

• Santa Claus is coming to town.

• Feliz Navidad

• Jingle Bells (a torture for singers, guitarist and conductor)

• And finally Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

The carolers were ME (conductor), Chris (guitarist), Malkinn, May, Alvin, Charmaine, HiuJing, Ben (bongos), Chai (tambourine), Saban, Zenny and Nick.

We kept caroling at every venue until Chris’ fingers started to ache due to the playing of the guitar and the singers got out of breath. Work ended at around 5 in the evening and I was so happy to be able to rest early that day. BUT not without a round of DotA!!!! Haha That’s right! Chris, Ben and I paid a visit to the cyber café near the office to play a few rounds of DotA. It was really fun and we forgot about the time (for a moment only HAHA). Today, I slept at around 12.

6th day

You can call me a pig and I wouldn’t mind it. The reason? I woke up at 11.30 in the morning!! Well its still morning isn’t it?? Anyway, we were supposed to get ready at 2, so I took my time getting ready. When the carolers soon arrived, we spent another day caroling around KL. Today’s routine was same as yesterday’s and all of us got exhausted caroling. At the final KL spot, everyone was informed that they must arrive at the office next morning by 7 to depart to Ipoh!!!! Many faces showed exhaustion but none lamented. What professionals they were! I did not because I am from Ipoh =)

7th day (Christmas eve)

We traveled back to my hometown, Ipoh in 3 cars, ferrying around 16 to 17 people consisting of the carolers and the DiGi yellow Santa and Santarina. In Ipoh, we performed at the Ipoh Parade on stage!! I wonder if any of my friends saw me there =) We had lunch in Ipoh Parade before another round of caroling on stage. Then, we headed straight to Penang!! I actually traveled the whole stretch of the Peninsular Malaysia West Coast in 5 days!! I have never traveled that far in my life in such a short period of time. Anyway, we reached Penang at around 5-6 and sang once in front of the DiGi roadshow booths at the Gurney Plaza. We had our rest and dinner and prepared for the final round of the day, that is during the countdown for Christmas Day at Gurney Plaza in Penang. It was truly an eye-opening event as many performances was set up and it had a crowd of around 10,000 by the looks of it. Being a part of it really gives me immeasurable experience and I was proud to be a tiny part of the spectacular performance line-up. The crowd was really big and lively and the countdown went smoothly and magnificently. After the countdown, we hanged around for an hour or so before heading back to the apartment (accomodation for the team). We slept at 5 after having a late supper.

8th day

Today, the caroling group went on singing. If I am not wrong, we headed to QueensBay mall and Prangin mall to sing. All of us were exhausted but knowing that it is the final day, we gave our best. The final round was soon over and we grouped in the Chicken Rice Shop at Gurney Plaza to have our dinner. Later, we were released for a ’shopping’ break as we waited to go head back to KL (me Ipoh). Having received my salary, I walked around the mall to shop for my brother’s birthday gift. By now, I have had a chat with all carolers and made friends with all of them. Hey, my socializing skills are not that bad after all!! After that, I followed Alan’s car back to Ipoh and thus ending my 1st full-time working experience for EventPlus.

My next work day will be on the 31st of December. Most probably in the KL New year countdown spots. Should I be working at these spots, it will be really amazing for a almost 18 year-old newbie/nerd/noob like me to be a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny part of it. Well, I am looking forward to it, and to learn more in my ‘working’ life.

Fact is, working for EP has opened my eyes and told me that I am as inexperienced as a turtle in its shell, minus the in-born instincts. Working has really opened my eyes and at the same time, I learnt some lessons and made some friends. I have to say I enjoy it, but there are always drawbacks. The drawback now being unable to spend more time with my family and my beautiful girlfriend Alicia…

But as we all know, nothing comes without a price and it is now the time for me to take a leap into the working world.

Until I write again (most probably a freaking long time), sayonara.

Goodbye Yellow Man

July 5th, 2007 by boringthings

YcfWhat would have been, and already is, Malaysia’s most popular and loved icon….is sadly coming to an end…Yes people, Yellow Man, or officially known as the Yellow Coverage Fellow (YCF), the little plump Digi icon that follows you everywhere, giving you the best receptions in the country, is leaving us for good….or so I think. Let me share my story.

Three days ago, 1st of July to be exact, my friends called me up to go YUM-CHA, right after the Ipoh International Run. Of course, with no bad feelings in mind, I leisurely walked right to the desired mamak stall. But then, I noticed the sky was getting gloomy (wah drama I tell you)….

One of my friend’s sister, I shall refer to her as X, was sitting down, looked as gloomy as the sky. Little did I know, I was to get even gloomier. As I sat down to order my milo-ais, the sad sad news arrived….

“They have decided internally that YCF will be a one off campaign. There will be no more new YCF stuffs to see…"

My heart stopped. I pressed on for more details.

“It was some ‘management decision’ la due to unforeseen circumstances that they cant reveal. Whatever la…"

Ycf Aha. That must be a prank, I thought desperately…but wait…X was the lady who told us about the ‘Hou Wong’ TV commercial some 2 weeks before it was actually aired. X is also a senior person in Digi. She would not play such a big prank on me…

Alas, I have to accept the terrible truth that Yellow Man is finally going to disappear from the TVs and the local Digi roadshows, something I rather am very sad of….

Ugh! What the hell is going on?

I mean…. hey Yellow Man is probably the best marketing strategy I’ve seen or heard of in years and years, maybe even since the day I learned what advertisements meant. To me, this fellow is more recognizable than the Colonel Sanders or Ronald McDonald of the fast food industry.

Whats the rationale behind this sudden move to remove Yellow Man from our lives forever? Was it the unpopular video posted on YouTube where the nasty Celcom giant squashed the tiny fellow? Or was it the second episode, as if we were looking forward for more, when our cute dancing Yellow Man was burnt to death. I don’t know. Don’t ask me. I mean….haizzzz. What do you think?

But hey, can it be the pirated CDs and VCDs that prompted the Yellow Man to be abolished…? Nah, I don’t see Tom Cruise being escorted in cop-cars when I bought my pirated copy of Mission Impossible 3 DVD.

My dear fellow lovers of Yellow Man, lets not ever forget our much-adored icon. Yellow Man shall live eternally in the photos we took with them, and in our hearts. Our dances with them shall always be on our minds….come to think of it, they have a routine dance don’t they? Can anyone please send me a video of that? I am desperately looking for more ways to remember my favourite Malaysian symbol.

Here is my one and only contribution to the icon, a video I edited myself, in memory of our Yellow Man. Very bad quality la but what the heck, it’s my way to share my feelings. To those Yellow Man fans, please enjoy the last reminiscence of that our very own Yellow Teletubbie.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=t7pLLa1W3jc

So sad, so sad. Hey guys, before it really happens, grab the opportunity man. You might never get any in your remaining lifetime. When you see Yellow Man walking across the road, or at Digi events, go take a photo, or exchange hugs, or even shake hands. Who knows you might be the last ever to take a photo with this fellow.

Hey another thing to share…I heard the pirated CDs and VCDs about Yellow Man are up for sale. You know, the local pasar malams and those strategic locations. Heard they are going fast, so anytime you come across one, better grab it. I shall miss their music forever. No no… I don’t work for those guys… just my random emotional thoughts of trying to grab whatever I can of the Yellow Man so I can share it to anyone when it is gone.

No more funny Yellow Man advertisements to tickle our funny bones. Remember the one where our icon was providing coverage for a jackass talking at the top of his voice in a cinema? I don’t know about you, but I really got me rolling off the floor laughing.

YcfNo more big Yellow Mans cheering at the Digi shows. These chubby fellas usually makes surprise visits, always manages to capture the heart of little children with their funny antics, making the crowd as lively as ever….. and their adults go crazy over. Look around when it happens, no one is blind enough not to see the joy it brings to everyone when he appears on the street.

It really makes me wonder. Is the ‘bully might’ of Celcom and Maxis that great? Goodness knows when they will pay the price for this.

It really saddens my heart, this move to put an end to Digi Yellow Man. I am sure all of us, the die-hard fans of Yellow Man will grieve….I mean, to think of it happening, Yellow Man….no more….

Ugh! it makes me sad and pissed off at the same time… why is this happening when the whole of Malaysia loves him and suddenly it stops??

i clicked that damn button and all was gone…..

March 16th, 2007 by boringthings

behold.. today 16/3/07 is the day one of the GREATEST (im sorry for the lack of modesty but heck… i learnt this from Dumbledore) DotA players is going to retire from action and leave the novices to take the field and continue this epic battle to defend the ancients…

I CLICKED THE ‘UNINSTALL’ BUTTON and all my legacy as a DotA player was gone. My perfect replays, my recently updated maps, my complete patch for blueserver… all gone. I felt crippled the moment i accepted the fact that it was all gone. I will never be whole again (well… unless i pay and play at the cc). ANYWAY this post is not about my misery. This post is about the significant effect of DotA on the daily routine of addicted teenagers, and the BENEFITS to those who are not.

EFFECTS

1. All the time that one has for the day is spent to play this game.

2. There will be a trend started here. A trend of uneffecticve time management that will certainly affect the future generations in a negative way.

3. More teenagers will have their name blacklisted or be graded as ‘B’ or ‘C’ class people because they are caught playing truant just to keep up with this game.

4. (I HAVE SEEN THIS) Children will quarrel with their parents and unwanted situations will happen.

One day, i was at a cc playing DotA, owning as usual using Soul Keeper…cut the crap. Well this guy was playing too a few places from me. Out of nowhere, a lady walked into the cc and start shoutng at this guy and i was like WHOA… Apparently this lady is the guys mother and is ugring him to go home and stop visiting the cc. What i heard was astonishing, in a bad way. It was ‘erm, all cencored…’. but i was not anything good, that i can be sure of.

of course, the sentence was saturated with vulgar words

BACK TO THE STORY

this lady was so dejected she just walked away…

So we see that this lousy game actually stretches the ties between children and parents, and also encourage the usage of vulgar words. Also, these situations bring about strict rules and regulations that bind the guy(teenagers) at home… well it is not a pity.

Where was i? Yeah no. 5. The people who seriously suck in this game will bring about another trend. The blaming and boasting trend. Well this trend has already found its place among the teenagers but this game is a very very effective catalyst that speeds up the rate of dispersion of this trend. OMG i am already thinking of Mercurial….

6. Of course, as any computer game does, this game also brings down your grades, spoils your eyesight, and all the other crap.

SO NOW…. WE GO ON TO THE BRIGHTER SIDE OF DOTA

1. You get friends. I mean lots of friends. There are plenty of channels where you can get new friends when playing DotA. Theres the cc, blueserver, friends spreading the stories of pros and this and that.

2. Your reflexes grow sharper and faster. In other words, you become more aware of your surroundings… well… in DotA that is. It can be implemented in real life. You just need some adaptations.

3. Your lousy brains can work out strategies in split seconds. You can distinguish the advantageous and disadvatageous situations, calculate the risks, know when you should run, and when you should go on fighting, how to grab opportunities, make opportunities, and all the things. I cant list it all here. So it is almost the same as business isnt it? I am sure you can see the connection.

4. Well, this game can also be a past time for people who are stressed out because of work or anything else. This game lets you relax and have fun, especially when there are a lot of people. There is certainly an excitement that will make that day a memorable one.

So there goes my last words in DotA.

I hope this will benefit you in one way or another.

SO LONG, DOTA… farewell

p.s. no advice this time… i am too miserable to offer any advice now…. and they might not even be of any use to you, so what the heck…

new years are all alike… arent they?

December 31st, 2006 by boringthings

365  days ago, we were all celebrating the year that was past… 365 later we are here today celebrating it the same way, just one year elder, more mature, smater, sharper, more experience, and the list goes on. so i ask myself, whats the big difference between celebrating it one year before or after? well, for some people of certain age, no doubt why  it is significant… we’ll see why

at the age of seven…. we grow excited as we start schooling. the excitement grows even more as we know our horizons will be expended and our community grows bigger.

at the age of 8,9…. we grow a bit wary of skul. we start hoping that the holidays are longer or even forever

at the age of ten…. newfound excitement as some of the youngsters go to morning classes (i did), but find it annoying a few months later

at the age of 12…. we start worrying about what seems to be a piece of cake now, UPSR

at the age or 13…. another new excitement… I AM A TEENAGER!!!!, and UPSR results put me in so-and-so classes!!!

at the age of 15…. fear and tension begins to creep in… PMR is coming. for some, it is challenging, for others who are confident, they are looking foward to it.

at the age of 16…. many think form 4 is a honeymoon year…. but they tought wrong. many new concepts, many new roles, many new learnings, many new expectations. students start taking up huge responsibilities like posts in cocuricular societies.

at the age of 17(me now)…. we learn that PMR is no where near SPM. tension grows, pressure grows, and finally, and eventually, we have to go through the tests and look foward

at the age of 18…. we are happy with the new privileges like being able to drive(not all can at 17) and watch movies that we want….. and face the huge decision that concerns our future.. form 6… or college or work?

at the age of 20/21/22/23… depending on what u do… studies finished. we hope for good jobs, though not trying to be too demanding… knowing that fact that 80,000 gradutaes are still out of employment…

at the age of 25/26/27/28… start securing convincing positions at your company… stable job income… gets into a stable relationship. just hopes that nothing goes wrong in his/her life

at the age of 30/31/32/33… plans to marry his/her sweetheart. hopes to have a nice marriage. hopes for bonuses more regularly. has a baby in the making, excited with new responsibility

at the age of 34/35/36/37… starts own business…. hopes for the best, start praying a lot, for business

at the age of 40-50… starts saving a lot of money, hopes that the interest rates shoot up

at the age of 50-55… start worrying about the life ahead, makes smart decisions in investments

at the age of 56/60… terminate working activities… recieves pension monthly, hoping the best for heirs

at the age of 70… gradually lose health to age, losing battle against time, just hopes the best for sons and daughters

at no certain age… draws last breath

every new year, we have new, more direct resolution. every year before that, we learn more about ourselves and the people around us, which helps us make decisions about the future, as well as with the resolutions that might change our lives forever. resolutions might be clear hope, but never think that just hope is enough… the only way the resolution will work out is if you really want it and work towards that way. no short cuts, no nothing to help you but yourself. everything might seem brighter every 1st of january, but always be wary. none should be too carried away by the new excitements that the young year brings… as many good things will come, many challenges and not-so-good things will soon arrive.

my point exactly = never let yourself off guard. it is the only way to protect yourself from slumbering into haven of hope, thinking that everything goes well in the newborn year. ends must meet. the battle goes on. as long as u stay focused, your life is as determined as you are.

do not buy a fish when u stumble upon a gold coin, seek a lesson to learn how to fish.

do not kill when u have the chance, spare and a rejoice as u find a new, loyal servant

do not distrust if u want to be trusted

do not hesitate to hack the final blow when the time reaches

fend off negative habits, welcome positive attitude

and i leave the rest to you…

good luck with the resolutions, may everyone have a very happy new year!!!!

australia…. i like malaysia way better

December 23rd, 2006 by boringthings

i had a perfect opportunity of visiting australia two weeks ago…. and needless to say i din let it go…

well heres australia from my point of veiw

the scenery…

-beautiful… no pollution at all… u see the roads in the city and the country ah, spotless man. if u can find a piece of rubbish come find me.. i give you five hundred bucks…(i think i can safely say that i wun be mourning)

-besides, the harbour bridge in sydney… magnificent, especially at nite… the view was fantastic.. cant be described in words at all. the skyscrapers also pose a view to die for… literally

-the sydney tower which is not that tall give me the best view of the city, and believe me… it is beautiful

then, the people

-the people are mostly very very polite. and i mean very very polite. they really treat u as if you are their close friend or some other people that they adi noe

-the service by the people working is also great. i went to a theme park and went for the motion-master. there was this crippled girl taking part… and i was not surprised that the person in charge offered all the help she can offer, without the slightest hesitation… now thats what i call i good employee

-probably they have what a coffee-maker said, the passion to go to work. an aussie actually answered this way when questioned in the wee hours of the morning in the airport "how do you people wake up so early and yet work so nicely?" was the question and "the passion" was the answer

the weather

-the weather is one strange thing… it was supposed to be summer in australia but it turned out to be cold…. seriously cold for a summer….

-melbourne was hitting 10 degrees celcius when i went there… what the heck do they mean by summer????

-adelaide was another city which is really mysterious… i can really say that i experienced four seasons in two days there… fishy…

-i only really experienced summer in albury, a small town on the country… even then, the wind was really chilly

the entertainment

-this is another really good thing bout australia… they have nice theme parks and great big cinemas…

-lets start with the cinemas..

1st of all, the seatings in the cinemas is not numbered.. meaning u can sit wherever u want, provided u go in early..

heres where the second good thing comes to play… every show that i have seen has a small number of audience of just about 15 to 20… so u really get to choose your seat slowly without needing to rush… and i duno how the heck the cinemas keep it running man…

-the theme park i went to was movie world.. pretty full with rides, 3D movies, public shows and even parades..

i went on many rides, which din really satisfy my hunger for adrenaline, but it was well worth the visit..

i saw some pretty funny and exciting shows like a police academy (the very very old movie) stunt showcase, which was really a comedic episode of police getting orders to catch two sneaky criminals… their stunts were okay, but with no special effects, made it very very hard to do…. the policeman drift in circles with no difficulty to round up the criminal, now that was cool…. and also there was a huge explosion which i think cost a fortune… we could really feel the heat from the where we sit… big budget

the was also a parade around two or three in the aftanoon… all the superheroes came out to greet the people there.. not just them, but popular movie icons like austin powers, scobby do and the gang, and the looney tunes characters all came out to march down the road and back… had a really nice time there

the government

-well i am not really supposed to talk bout their government, but just one point wont matter… the government really care bout their citizens(pedestrians actually)… really… the roads, especially the main roads, have lots of zebra crossings and if any driver dares hit a pedestrian crossing the road, at whatever pace… the driver loses his lisence and has to pay for all the losses that the pedestrian have suffered, which is really good

so, my experience was quite nice, a bit hectic… heres my journey…

sydney, sydney-adelaide, adelaide, adelaide-sydney, sdyney-melbourne-albury, albury, albury-sydney, sydney, sydney, sydney, sydney, sydney-brisbane-gold coast, gold cost-brisbane-sydney, sydney-kl-IPOH!!!!!

i dun really noe whether the arrangement is correct, and dun really care actually… what that matters is that i have experienced what i have experienced… and learned something from the trip, which is one really important thing

wherever you go, learn the culture, absorb the good values, dun just look at the bad side… be a si tenggang(the one in the form 4 literature book), and evolve, evolve into a better person evrytime you get to visit a new place, see new cultures, new traditions, new environments… take the good points, learn from the bad ones, educate the people back in your place… make sure they understand what u have seen and experienced… if you keep everything to yourself, might as well dun go abroad

and finally, no matter how the experince has changed you, u must always remember that u are still who u are, the nationality of yours is not to be in doubt… with no offence to anyone that may have in the slightest coincidence to what i have to say…. i say this, with your knowledge bout other countries that are better that your own, help your country improve in whatever way possible, dun ever think that if another country is better, i shud stay there.. and not go back to your own country… no such thing, NO SUCH THING..

YOUR NATIONALITY IS A VERY IMPORTANT THING THAT YOU POSSESS. DO NOT LOSE IT or DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE IT!!!

thats why i say, i am a malaysian, once a malaysian… forever a malaysian..

thats also why i prefer malaysia (if u were wondering, look at the title)

so, until my next very very distant and boring post, bye bye

end year exams

October 14th, 2006 by boringthings

….zzzz

well, who does not know what is end year exams yet??

i am sure nobody in the world would look foward to unless those nerds or those guys who wanna evaluate themselves…. and i think all people shud b like them… errrrrrr i mean the evaluate part….

well sure enuf people in skuls nowadays dun really like assestments or examination anymore than they prefer a slug as dessert, but it is a good thing really. let me list out the boring advantages of this what we call ‘examination’

1) we happily get to sit around in class building castles, forts, countries, even parthenons, pantheons and colloseums in the air… for those who wanna noe what those are, pls refer to the most boring book in the world… the HISTORY textbook

2) (pls dun misinterpret this thing or get hurt or anithing) we get to e kings for the examination period… thats saying we can get what we want at anytime we want…. {you may say… ‘teacher i wan this…er… nvm la…. second thought i want it…}(pls dun misuse this!!!!!)

3) for those who want quietness, i dun think i need to elaborate more…. they get all they want… calm, serene classes envionments…(actually oni quiet la), and not those usual hustling and bustling like in pasar pagis or pasar tanis or whatever comes in your mind that is seriously a pain for the ear

4) this is one funny thing - we actually get to commit really serious crimes and yet get away with it… well not really crimes but wrong-doings.. yes wrong-doings. i can be sure that in every class in the skul, there will be copying, discussing, and referring to books smuggled in the toilets… and wala u will nvr get caught… (dun mistake this as something i do… i just know of it cuz even my friends do this)

5) well all of us know tat the time allocated for each exam paper is not accurate..simply meaning either u get too much time or u get too little time to finish the rugged paper(thats how great our education system is)… well good news for both situations.. cuz

*for too much time, u get the most refreshing nap tat u will ever get and guess what??? u get really geared up for the next boring paper cuz u are  so  darn refreshed… and while sleeping in class is a serious offence, teachers actually encourage the students to do so when in exams (now that is something u can only enjoy in exams)

*for too little time…. well there is a silver lining in every cloud… and the silver lining here is… u get to train you lousy and slow hands and brain to write and think quickly and properly so that this wil never hapen to you ever again… now that’s what i call bucking up in the very very very final second

*well one last situation… u think that there is not enuf time, and rush to get answers, and finally when u finish, u see that  have loads of time left, and u say to urself…’y dun i sleep?’ like in situation one… well….. dun…. recheck ur paper if u really want results. if u dun want this, just chill out and nap b4 u go thru the paper slowly until situation two kicks in… now u get both advantages… not bad huh??

6) if u dun give the single least of a damn bout the exams… then u are in luck… u willl get all the time in the world to do whatever u want… say.. imagine bout u getting the best marks (zzzzz) or make a strategy for games to try out when u reach home, get u minds activated by writing a poem or two on the exam papers itself!!!! coool… and guess what, u get no interruptions and u dun have your wildest ideas dampened by some pathetic, practical, self-centered guy who overhears you cuz that guy must be a nerd and he will actually be too busy doing the exams to pour some cold water and hamper your imaginations

7) well all the people say that exams give u a chance to evaluate urself and compare your achievements with other friends… well this althou many people dun care bout it, is a real good opportunity… all students get to know their capabilities and will have an idea as to where he needs to put in effort to expand his horizon… and there might as well be some competition between those high-achievers and this is a kind of healthy competition that only improves the students, well u cant deny that can u?? wanting to beat u fren in this or that wil certainly put u in a mood to study!!!(well thats nerdy)

8) we have come to the very last thing on this boring list.. that is ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

well, i want to leave that one for your choice… it is certainly your view as well as mine so theres no stopping you in critising the exams, or thinking bout the opportunities u get in exams….

all i gotta tell u guys is this… theres no purpose in life if u stay as dumb as you are now….. move on and know more things.. life is about xploring, not sitting there and look at the sky and lazily say…’ arrgh its gonna rain, might as well dun go out and have a nice nap’… nope, that is for losers and pessimists…

now, whatever u are doing, good luck in ur exams(whether u want or need it) and hope u look at the bright side and well, tackle the exams get yourself some rewards

MVS 7….

June 24th, 2006 by boringthings

Last Friday was the 7th edition of the APMB’s musical variety show, organised by the youngsters of the APMB. It was quite a success, as the Syuen Ballroom, the venue, was full with audiences and some had to stand to watch the performances. As the chairperson of this year’s MVS, I really want to thank the people whom I regard as the heroes of this MVS, the unsung heroes behind this spectacular version of the concert.

To ALAN THOO,

I sing my praises. You were the inspiration of this concert. Your advises were really helpful and you practically got us the DiGi people to perform. You are my first to thank, and my finest godbro….

To MARCUS LOH,

I respect the most, and I mean it. I know I haven’t updated you properly about this concert, one of the many flaws I have made. Nevertheless you contributed much, eventhough you were very busy with the Celebriteen stuff. The musical maestro, thanks….

To SAM TEH KEE SOON,

You helped made this concert a very organised one, eventhough your contributions looked little. Without your stage management, I think that the performers will not have a clue when and where they should be. You have great advices and hints for me, and I really appreciate them. Thank you….

To KENNETH YEOH, YEW WING, KAH CHUAN, JIET HOU AND GEE SHIN,

My seniors and ABEXes, thank you all for attending and helping out in the concert. You guys have contributed to the organised state of the night, and without your help, we may not have the organised concert we had.

To CHUN KIT, KEVIN, FOO KIT, ARVINF, AND JOHAN,

You were the saviours of the APMB performance. Without your help, I am pretty sure that we won’t sound as loud and as grand on the night. You all were not only the heroes from the performance wise, you all were also my very grateful advisers. To this, I acknowledge LIEW CHUN KIT. You gave me points and hints and advises that no one could have given me at the point I needed it the most. Thank heavens you were in school. To Kevin, Foo Kit, Arvinf, and Johan, I am pretty sure that you, my seniors, have given me advises that I may have looked over. To that I apologise. Thank you guys for the advise. Thank you, seniors, ABEXes.

To ASHWIN AND SIEW JHOONG,

You may not have been in Ipoh, but your short and appreciated presence during the concert period has helped. You have advises that I really appreciate. Siew Jhoong, you have managed the registration well and properly, and I thank you very much for that. Thanks…

To MRS BHAJAN,

You gave great advise, teacher. I really appreciate your help in this MVS, and I apologise for making you run up and down. Thank you, teacher.

To HARDEEP,

Man, you were great friend and great supporter of this MVS. You were great and without your support and advise being a chairman, I may not have achieved this success.

To the Celebtiteen staff and performers,

You guys were there for the night and really helped in making this show a success. To the staff, you guys helped in making this  shw very organised, and i thank you guys…. To the performers, namely the UNDERGRPUND EXTREME and the Celebrtieen state champions, thank you for making this show a real variety. This success I owe you all.

To the performers of the night,

To the TRADIMODE of Main Convent. You girls were really helpful in the selling of tickets and performed very very well at the night. To Mrs Florina, Mrs Camelia, and the girls, thanks…

To Sangeet Kaur, thanks for singing… You sang well.

Last but definitely not least, my COMMITTEE and my MEMBERS,

JUSTIN OOI, you were the best assistant I ever had. You supported me eventhough you do not very much agree. I say sorry for the things I may have pushed you to do, and thanks for the assists that you have given me.

SHAN, you were a very good adviser. You pushed me far and I appreciate that. Without that push, I may not have achieved this success. Thank you.

Graham, Syimir, Amir, Ying Hung and the rest of the committee, thank you for all the teamwork. The things that i told you guys to do was done perfectly, and i am very very grateful. There may have been blunders and hiccups, but those can be apologised, and don’t fell bad about it, it is over.Thank you guys for being there for me, and thanks very much for willing to work with me.

The Form 5 and the performers, I really thank you guys. SHAN, RAIS, WILSON, SAKTHE, SYED and ALIFF and PEI MIN, the new Form 6 members, thank you guys and girls for being there although the exams are near, and all the advises and everything. Without you, i may noy have achieved this feat. To the Form 4 and downwards, you guys were very displined and committed. i thank you guys fot the committment, dedication and discpline.

GUYS AND GIRLS,

This is my very first mega-project. And you guys helped make i a great success and reality. You guys and girls are really the unsung heroes of this concert, and I say sorry if I have offended of been rude or impolite in the course of making this show a reality, sorry. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

a crowded sunday

June 11th, 2006 by boringthings

and you would think that crowds on sundays are good…. totally the opposite!!

today we hard a really full field of players playing football in the field, some of which i hope never to see again (i am not scared to say it out loud<or type>)

as i have said before, suren always get the ball when it is crowded, and he got it, and slotted it in an empty goal for our first score, really nice revenge against the kononnya great uncle who only messes up the game.

nevertheless, the game went on… me touching the ball a few times only, damn boring…. got 40 people in the field.. in periods of the game i just think… PLAY WHAT WOR????

it goes on and on and on and on and….. the score was 7-5, we leading.. from some fine strikes and two penalties… i think the scorers were suren, naven, thevin, azrol… and some others la… wasnt paying too much attention

then it was final goal…. one kapcai offside goal from the wilson or whatshisname i dun really care…

so we called it a day and some of us went cycling whereas a few of us juggled the ball…

well thats for this week, not very infromative cuz skul coming…. have to go sleep jor…

the first report

June 4th, 2006 by boringthings

well since azrol has a greaaaaaaaaaaaat idea of me posting these reports on our football days, here you go…

yesterday, a sunday…

a great surprise greeted us as sundays usually mean a packed field, and nobody touching the ball more than twice (except the never passing suren). however, only about eighteen of us turned up for the craze… so we had a good time there (not really me) the team was usual, suren, azrol, figo (fisco now), desmond, philip, chapra, puvi, shatiesh and others (i got short term memory)..

so there we started play as usual suren and shateish going up and scoring, figo giving crosses, azrol putting a defensive role, surprisingsly… and then desmond decided to give goalkeeping a try

things go on, and we leaded by a massive amount, i think by five goals at the end, courtesy of hat-tricks by the striker turned goalkeeper, shateish, suren and one goal from puvi and desmond…

rather a dissappointing game from me really, tried to go up…. wasted some nice chances… ah… i beta be playing down rather than up i think.. slacking in football d so fast…

other than that, i think everybody in the team did a good job and we ruled until a point where figo went home… but our lead was so massive that i did not make, much difference

so then, one nice game came and went, how i wished that everyday was like that, where the field was not crowded and there is space for everyone, not just those bodoh-sombong people like suren….hahahhaha (just joking la)
